Applied Kinesiology/
Nutritional Response Testing

We often have nutritinal deficiencies or imbalances that lead to a breakdown in resistance or immunity, and a loss of the ability to cope with environmental stresses. Often there are signs of this health breakdown which could include any of the following: indigestion, gas, bloating, reflux, constipation/diarrhea, fatigue, loss of sleep, allergies, weight gain/loss, frequent colds/infections, asthma, menstrual problems, urinary dysfunction, anxiety, depression, colic, behavioral problems/ADD, and many others.

Dr. Bradley provides nutritional counseling to our patients using Applied Kinesiology, also known as Nutrition Response Testing, which is a unique analysis used to detect nutritional deficiencies and underlying nutritive stress factors. If the patient is a candidate for this testing, whole food nutritional supplements and dietary changes may be recommended to restore balance and function to the body.

Applied Kinesiology is the study of how the body’s organ reflexes relate to your state of health. The organ reflexes are determined by neurological reflexes and meridian points. When there is a nutritional deficiency, the organ reflexes can become “weak.” Through this specific analysis, Dr. Bradley can find out which nutritional supplement the body needs to regain strength of the organ reflex, thereby restoring balance and optimal function to the body.

Custom Orthotics

Our feet are the “foundation” of the body. Since 99% of all people have foot pronation (often causing imbalances and stresses in the knees, which in turn puts stress on the hip, back, and even our neck), custom orthotics are a vital solution to whole body health. This is the bio kinetic chain in action. When our feet are stabilized and in balance, the rest of the kinetic chain will function as it should – pain free! But when our feet are pronated and de-stabilized, the rest of the kinetic chain will be negatively impacted – typically resulting in pain and loss of function.

Orthotics and the Foot/Spine Connection

Static support
During a standing posture, the alignment of the arches in each foot has a significant impact on the position of the legs and pelvis. When the arches are low and/or pronating excessively, the knee will rotate. A research study using radiographic measurements found that custom-made, flexible orthotics can significantly improve the alignment of the arches when standing.

Dynamic support
During gait, the foot must permit a smooth transfer of the body’s center of mass over the leg to conserve energy and keep the work expenditure to a minimum. This requires an orthotic to be flexible yet supportive, and orthotic designs must consider:

  • Weight and intensity of forces
  • Proper movement and function of the foot
  • Support of all three arches to prevent eventual arch collapse

Postural benefits
Improving foot alignment can help maintain knee, hip, pelvis, and even spinal postural alignment. Preventing hip, knee, or spinal joint degeneration requires the additional support and shock absorption provided by orthotics. And a pelvic or spinal tilt or recurrent subluxations will often respond rapidly to orthotic support.

Dr. Bradley will capture a 3D scan of your feet using a foot scanner in our office. After the scan, he will go through a report that displays the level of over-pronation and possible cause of dysfunction and pain. This report will educate you on how over-pronation may be causing pain points throughout the body, including the knees, hips, low back and even neck.

Pillowise
“Your sleep, Your size”

Why a custom pillow?

Everyone is unique in shape and size and being placed into a small, average, or large category doesn’t cut it. Proper cervical support promotes a more natural sleep position with a more neutral spine. Assuring proper cervical and shoulder support for each shape and size has never been so advanced yet simple.
A pillow that is tailored to an individual’s dimensions is the way to get the best possible rest and for muscles to be at their most relaxed.

It is important that the pillow is not too high and not too low. An appropriate pillow, one that is the correct height and shape, will adapt to the contours of a person’s neck, is comfortably soft and gives great support. Pillowise pillows match the right pillow to every patient with a simple 3-step measuring system & patented algorithm. Get measured for yours today!

Clinical Neuromuscular Therapy is an approach to soft tissue manual therapy in which quasi-static pressure is applied to soft tissue to stimulate skeletal striated muscle. Through applied knowledge of trigger points, Clinical Neuromuscular Therapy addresses postural distortion (poor-posture), biomechanical dysfunction, nerve compression syndrome, and ischemia. With this therapy we get to the root of the problem, opposed to chasing the pain.
